Dubbed in France Indian Palace ( a much shorter title), I watched this movie this week and I daresay I had a great time. The movie’s pitch is simple :
A bunch of English retirees are not willing to spend their old days in rainy Britain as life is getting just too expensive for them and they decide to outsource their retirement to sunny exotic India.
You might think that being about retirees, the movie isn’t going to be fun or even interesting. Well, luckily it is a huge laugh.
The main actors are famous british ones – including Bill Nighy (seen in Radio Rock), Judi Dench (seen in the latest James Bond, where she stars as M, no less) or Maggie Smith (seen as Professor McGonagall in the Harry Potter series) and Tom Wilkinson (seen as Carmine Falcone in Batman Begins)
Dealing with the various challenges and adventures of life, and of ageing, this movie is a great way to discover the bustling teeming vibrant life of India.
To conclude : I greatly enjoyed myself as it is really a feel good movie, which best quote is
“Everything will be all right in the end… if it’s not all right then it’s not the end.”
So, go ahead, enjoy !
