Hamlet, by William Shakespeare

HamletFor Christmas I wanted to read some Shakespeare, navigating from must read to masterpieces. While I struggled with some sentences and tirades, I found some other just fantastic. It is no wonder Shakespeare is still regarded as one of  the greatest authors.

As much has been said about the tragic history developped in this most famous book, I thought it would be interesting to share with you what tirades and quotes I really enjoyed :

” My words fly up, my thoughts remain below;
Words without thoughts never to heaven go “

Here is another masterpiece of writing :

” O, speak to me no more;
These words like daggers enter in mine ears:
No more, sweet Hamlet. “

And another one, near the end :

” Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet prince;
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. “

I truly enjoyed Hamlet and will read another Shakespeare soon. Possibly Othello…
